Christopher Furlong captures demonstrators marching down Boulevard Voltaire after the Charlie Hebdo attacks, January 11th.

Britain’s The Guardian is an internationally leading broadsheet newspaper, which in 2014 overtook the New York Times to become the world’s second most popular English-language newspaper site (after British tabloid, the Daily Mail). Every year it selects its photographer of the year based on submissions to its picture desk. Bearing in mind they receive up to 20,000 per day, it’s quite an honour to be chosen.
