Peter and David Turnley in Tiananmen Square, 1989
By Corbis
June 4th marks the 25th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre as Chinese troops cracked down on civilian and student demonstrators holding a pro-democracy and pro-reform occupation in the center of Beijing’s Tiananmen Square.
Brothers, identical twins and Corbis contributors, Peter and David Turnley. were witnesses to this grave and historical event.
Their experiences are chronicled in an article by Eve Conant for National Geographic.
