My Neighbour with Whiskers: Sharing Suburbia with the Local Wildlife
Aside the hazards and possible nuisances of wildlife roaming around suburbia, their presence also brings back an air of the mystical and otherworldliness to our otherwise constructed environment. We have modified the landscape to accommodate our sprawling habitation. Our requisition of land in proximity to natural reserves means we also acquire new neighbours of the furry, feathery variety.
There have been reports of bears, mountain lions, moose, and grey wolves infiltrating suburbs, usually on the hunt for food- our food. We make dining a less arduous task for them, disposing of our surplus disregarded food just at our (and their) doorstep. …read more
