How do you profile someone who is famous for profiling others, whose job is to be somewhat elusive, often not seen or heard—observing and documenting—capturing the right moments as they arrive? Chris Felver has documented some of the greatest luminaries of our time. His films have profiled John Cage, Cecil Taylor, and Lawrence Ferlinghetti. His books are filled with the likes of Maya Angelou, Allen Ginsburg, Patti Smith, Lou Reed, Pete Seeger, Hunter S.
