Flickr reaches 5 Billion photos

Flickr users upload 3.000 new pictures every minute and user yeoaaron has uploaded number 5 billion leading to many congratulatory remarks and coverage on numerous blogs. While 5 billion may seem limited compared to the number of images on Facebook it’s enormous when compared to the Stock photography industry where Alamy recently announced having 20 million images online. Image number 5 billion was released under a creative commons license so here it is:
