The Bridgeman Art Library Partners With The Royal Collection

The Bridgeman Art Library has announced its’ new partnership with the Royal Collection.

The Bridgeman Art Library is thrilled to have been appointed as a licensing partner of the Royal Collection, with many images now available to view and download for licensing projects as high-resolution files.

Included among the treasures from the Collection are portraits of monarchs down the ages by the finest artists of the day, including Sir Anthony van Dyck, Rembrandt, Rubens and Hans Holbein the Younger. There are also images of Faberge eggs, drawings by Leonardo da Vinci and beautiful scenes of Venice by Canaletto.

The addition of the Royal Collection compliments existing heritage collections in the Bridgeman archive, including over over thirty historic house collections in the UK, the National Trust and English Heritage.

About the Royal Collection

Shaped by the personal tastes of kings and queens over more than 500 years, the Royal Collection includes paintings, drawings and watercolours, furniture, ceramics, clocks, silver, sculpture, jewellery, books, manuscripts, prints and maps, arms and armour, fans, and textiles.

It is held in trust by The Queen as Sovereign for her successors and the nation, and is administered by the Royal Collection Trust, a registered charity. Works of art from the Royal Collection can be enjoyed both in the historic settings for which they were originally commissioned or acquired and in The Queen’s Galleries in London and Edinburgh, which host a programme of changing exhibitions. The Royal Collection is on display at the royal palaces and residences, all of which are open to the public.
