Monkey Selfie Not Eligible for Copyright
The US Copyright Office has reported that it will not register any works produced by nature, animals or plants, declining photographer David Slater’s claim to owning the copyright to a selfie made by a monkey that stole one of his cameras.
The new rule was included in the 1,222-page document that was issued last Tuesday, August 19. “The Office will not register works produced by nature, animals, or plants.
