4Corners Photography Exhibited At Air Gallery

London based photography agency 4Corners will be showcasing the ‘Lost in Landscape’ exhibition at the Air Gallery from the 30th of May.

PRESS RELEASE

Selected work from 4Corners’ photographers will be exhibited at The Air Gallery from 30th May to 4th June.

The “Lost in Landscape” exhibition presents a selection of images brought to life in print to highlight the photographer’s craft in the 21st century.

In a world of relentless digitisation, photography has become a commodity, and the means to make new images is in everyone’s hands. By virtue of immediate digital distribution and ease of reproduction, it’s easy to forget the wealth of skill that’s invested in the strongest images. All too often, singular moments become commonplace, and an image’s accessibility – that is to say our ease of access – can make them seem ordinary. In electronic media, images hold our attention for the blink of an eye, sometimes as brief as the moment in which they were made, before they disappear again into anonymity. Whilst we don’t deny that 4Corners is part of the process, this exhibition reminds us of the skill and craftsmanship inherent in our medium.

The desire to create a powerful and enduring body of work still drives most photographers. In this exhibition, 4Corners makes the virtual tangible by displaying a small selection of work in a medium that encourages contemplative viewing and allows us to rediscover the wonder of photography.

Lost in Landscape – an exhibition of 21st Century travel photography from 30th May to 4th June at The Air Gallery , 32 Dover Street, London W1. Admission free. 10am – 7.30pm daily.
