Chi Modu’s Historical Hip-Hop Images

Photographer Chi Modu has used imagery to redefine boundaries throughout his career. Born in Nigeria and raised in New Jersey, Modu eventually became the Director Of Photography for The Source magazine, which gave him access to some of hip-hop’s largest superstars, while garnering over 30 covers. His images captured many candid moments in music history, which still resonate decades later.
