Get thousands of people to see your tweets in minutes

Last week I wrote about some great new functionality in Fast Media People, the community for picture buyers and sellers here at Fast Media Magazine.

With the new option to synchronize your posts with Twitter you can get your tweets read by a large group of targeted picture buyers and sellers and it will only take minutes to set up. Once you registered and allowed access to your Twitter account all your tweets will appear in the community ready to be read by colleagues, partners and (potential) clients. You can connect your own Twitter account or that of your business (or register twice if you want both)

No need to actively build your followers, they’re all right here. We have many thousands of readers coming through every month and all of them will be able to see the feed on the community coming through. On top of that they can invite you to become friends and join your group or that of your business. So it’s really Twitter plus some extra’s

And in the future I will add more functionality to make this an ever more integrated and useful community for everyone that wants to connect to fellow picture buyers and sellers. And this is how you do it:

  1. Go to: www.fastmediamagazine.com/register/
  2. Fill in all the details
  3. If you go back to the screen you have missed out something or made a mistake (the site will point them out)
  4. Once all is clear the screen will reset. We will send you an email, please check your spamfolder for this
  5. Confirm your registration

Now add Twitter

  1. Click on the tweetstream link
  2. Allow Fast Media Magazine access to your Twitter account feed
  3. Your tweets will now appear
  4. If you want to send a post to Twitter just check the box under the status update
  5. If you just want to read other people’s tweets just use the filter to select ‘Show tweets’

Now you’re all set to make connections, start a debate, ask questions, join or start groups and read information. I hope you enjoy it and will get useful information from other Fast Media People.

  • something tells me this is not as easy as how you describe it. not the setting up part but actually getting lots of followers or people to actually read your tweets. Photoshelter just did a great write up on how you could be failing using social media outlets like twitter and this doesn’t seem like a great use of a photographers time. They might as well go out and shoot awesome photos and use their earnings from the great photos to hire someone to help them with SEO, engaging on social media outlets or selling their images.

But i am not trying to bash your ideas at all and it might be really helpful. Id be interested to see some hard data that supports the claim that a highly targeted group of visitors actually read your tweets. You might be right that they actually do 😉

    • Thanks for the feedback, Twitter continues to be a hotly debated subject and I do agree that one should probably not get overexcited about the usefullness or monetization possibilities of it for photographers (even though some companies are monetizing it).

I think the key to a tool like Twitter is that it can help people stay informed quickly and immediately. For example, I follow Heathrow airport and my hosting company and as soon as something goes wrong Twitter is the fastest way to find out.

The invite is not so much a plea to use Twitter but to reach a different audience if you already have it. My site gets many thousands of visitors each month that are both buyers and sellers of images. A registration and link to Twitter means all of them can see the Tweets. To check it out just go to http://www.fastmediamagazine.com and click on community, here you’ll see some of the early adopters sharing their tweets and facebook updates.

With information de-linked from the medium it merely gives anyone a new way to present it without much effort as it all goes automatically.

      Hope this makes sense

      Marco
