Getty Images and MLS extend their agreement

Getty Images  is extending its agreement with Major League Soccer  (MLS) in the United states. Under the multi-year agreement, the company will be the exclusive commercial photographic partner for the MLS.

The MLS organises 480 events a year and Getty Images will cover all regular season and playoff matches, MLS Superdraft, All-star, Cup and champions game.

“Among the five major professional sport leagues in the U.S., Major League Soccer has the most diverse roster of athletes, with more than 150 players born in 55 countries outside the United States,” said Stuart Crystal, vice president of consumer products, MLS. “Our partnership with Getty Images will help us continue to appeal to a much broader consumer audience, by highlighting our domestic and international talent both here in the U.S. and abroad.”

The relationship has been in place since 2004 with, then, Wireimage, a company that was subsequently acquired by Getty Iages

Getty Images covers events in 130 sports, globally, every year.
