Getty Images announces FIFA partnership
Getty Images announced a two year deal with FIFA, the international Football governing body, that includes the world cup.

NEW YORK & LONDON, April 28, 2010 – Getty Images, Inc. is proud to announce that it will be the Authorized Photographic Agency of FIFA. The association is part of a two-year agreement whereby Getty Images has been appointed by FIFA to cover their tournaments including the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ with a dedicated team of photographers providing a dynamic record of events with exclusive pitch side and behind-the-scenes access. The images will make up the FIFA Collection, a new collection which will be available online at www.gettyimages.com/fifa, giving Getty Images customers an exclusive opportunity to license powerful imagery that they will not find anywhere else. The FIFA collection will complement and further strengthen Getty Images’ comprehensive and award-winning editorial coverage.
Getty Images will be in South Africa to capture the magic of this year’s biggest global sporting event, with two FIFA Collection photographers at every game providing a fresh photographic angle from dedicated FIFA photography positions. Backed by a team of over 50 Getty Images production staff and photographers, the dedicated FIFA photographers will be working around the clock to capture all the action from the tournament, as it happens. Customers will have access to an unprecedented number of iconic images just minutes after they are captured at any of World Cup venues and the team will generate up-to-the-minute images using the very latest in fiber-optic technology.
