Huge multitouch wall at Cannes Lions brings future closer

Here’s yet another, huge, way to use multitouch technology. This touchwall by Schematic at the Cannes Lions festival last week allows multiple people to interact with a wide range of information relating to the festival. Users were able to look at programs, interactive floor plans and find more information about each event. The wall could even recognise the identity of attendants through their badge. Once acknowledged the could then link to other attendants and network by drawing connections between people on the screen. Here are two video’s about the impressive screen. We’re not quite there yet but we’re getting ever closer to practical applications of the technology show in the 2002 blockbuster Minority report (see last video)
