Motivating companies and people through purpose

This great whiteboard animation of the Royal society for the encouragement of arts tackles a presentation made by ex Al Gore speechwriter and best selling author Dan Pink. In this 10 minute presentation he explains how research has repeatedly shown that more reward for creative tasks does not lead to better results, on the contrary. He goes on to explain how companies that are just focused on profit are producing deteriorating results. Giving companies and people a purpose on the other hand and finding practical ways to rally teams and individuals around that purpose can produce stellar results.

This lively RSA Animate, adapted from Dan Pink’s talk at the RSA, illustrates the hidden truths behind what really motivates us at home and in the workplace.
