The images of the vast historical picture library of the Italian media conglomerate De Agostini Group are now available at The Granger Collection. The expansive archive of De Agostini Picture Library documents the intriguing art, architecture, and artifacts of ancient civilizations as well as a large assortment of fine art paintings spanning the ages.

Formed in the 1970s, the image collection encompasses the subjects most needed for reference, education, and encyclopedia products: art, archaeology, botany, food, fossils, geography, history, minerals, travel, and zoology. Amazing photographs document many of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites—hundreds of cultural, natural, and mixed locations around the world
designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization as places of outstanding universal value such as the Burgos Cathedral in Spain and the ancient city of Pompeii.

Additionally, the collection features a significant number of rare images from sites of ancient Egypt. A recent shooting campaign captured nearly a thousand photographs from the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens that were previously not possible due to inaccessible locations or technical limitations from cameras and other equipment.

More than 50,000 images were imported in the first submission, with many more to be added on a regular basis as De Agostini digitizes its large picture holdings.
