Thought Equity Motion Acquires Panvidea

In a period of increased activity and investment in the stockphoto and video industry Thought Equity has announced it has acquired Cloud-based Video Distribution Platform Panvidea

PRESS RELEASE

Thought Equity Motion, Inc.—a leading provider of cloud-based video platform and footage licensing services—announced the acquisition of Panvidea, a platform provider for video preparation, processing, packaging and delivery.

Panvidea enables professional content owners, broadcasters, publishers, and advertising agencies to encode, edit and package their video content for distribution to any digital platform across any digital network at a fraction of the time and cost.  Panvidea provides a scalable, cloud-based solution to encode digital media elements, manage relevant metadata, edit and transform media for multiple audiences, and supply content as digital products to any platform or device.

Thought Equity Motion’s T3 Platform combines enterprise-class, multi-petabyte storage and disaster recovery (DR) for master-quality assets with a rich web-based application set for video search, preview, metadata, and delivery services.  The company serves thousands of video producers and content owners globally, from major media companies and sports leagues to production companies, agencies, and enterprises.

Chris Cali, Panvidea’s CEO and Co-founder, is joining Thought Equity Motion as VP, Platform Technologies.  Cali developed leading edge solutions around digital video management at Sony Music Entertainment and Maven Networks before founding Panvidea. At Thought Equity Motion, he will be responsible for leading the roadmap and development path for the company’s T3 Platform.

“I’m excited to be joining Thought Equity Motion at this key point in its growth,” said Chris Cali. “The company has great traction with its large-scale video management platform and the integration of Panvidea’s toolset will accelerate our ability to serve the distribution needs of the world’s leading media companies.”

“Panvidea’s cloud-based architecture and dynamic packaging toolset are a strong complement to our own video storage cloud and will help meet the demand we are seeing in the market for high scale, digital file-based commercial content delivery,” said Kevin Schaff, CEO & Founder of Thought Equity Motion. “Chris is a true innovator in this space and is a great addition to our team.  We’re looking forward to him working with our CTO Mark Lemmons to drive the vision of our platform technology forward.”
