Google wins lawsuit over thumbnail images

Google has won dismissal of a lawsuit in Germany’s court that called for the company to stop use of thumbnail images.

“The Federal Court of Justice said Google isn’t violating the copyright of an artist who had posted photographs of her works on her Web site and thus made it available to search engines, the court said in an e-mailed statement today.”

The photographer had not blocked the images from being viewed by search engines.
